I have about 10 different projects going on at once right now. I don't know why I do this to myself, but that's just the way I am. Here is a little peek into the biggest, most time consuming project (for me and hubby) currently in the works.

*New* Barstools
One (of many) really nice thing about our current location is the subdivision yard sale that happens every spring and fall. At the last spring sale, I was able to get 3 barstools for our kitchen. All they required was a quick wipe down on the wood and a change in seat material.
The cushion fabric is some I had left over from the stairway window. I like the material, but it's not really practical for barstools kids are using. Next time, I think I'll use oil cloth or maybe even vinyl. It's been fun having them at the kitchen island while I'm cooking, though.

Blinds!!
Very excited to share our latest big purchase for our home.
Okay. So it may not be all that exciting, but it is an improvement.
Just like any other homeowner, we are constantly wanting to make our home a wonderful place in which to live. We have a little added pressure of making sure all home improvements add value and aren't too individual. Even thought we are very content in our current location, there is always the potential for movement. (Something that is always in the back of our minds.)
Today my husband has taken the day off for another project I've been nagging him to do. Hoping to share that with you all soon!

A little dark, but you get the idea. |

Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls
Ever have those days when you need a really quick meal? My kids get off the bus everyday around 4:30. By the time we get some extra energy out and then sit down to do homework, I should have had supper started an hour ago. Then, I'm usually standing in front of an open fridge trying to figure out something for us all to eat that isn't frozen - while trying to helping with homework.
One night I thought I would give the combination of crescent rolls, ham and cheese a try. This has become a quick favorite and is often requested.
1 can Crescent Rolls
4 slices Kraft Singles
1/2 lb Lunch Meat (I used ham)
What you do:
Unroll and separate your rolls into 8 triangles.
Place desired amount of meat on each triangle.
Place 1/2 a slice (torn diagonally) Kraft Single on top of your meat.
Roll the triangles according to the directions on the side of the crescent roll can.
Bake per directions on side of can.
Once they are lightly browned, remove and serve.
Such an easy thing to fix. As you can see from a couple of pictures above, the cheese can be left off if someone would prefer it cheese free. Still very good eats. Just add a couple of sides and you have a whole meal. These would also be good as finger foods for a party!

New Wall Calendars
I seem to be on a never ending (trial and error) mission to get organized. Not too long ago I made a little message board to put next to my wall calendar.
It worked, somewhat, but it really just look horribly cluttered on my wall once it was filled up. Plus, I need to have two months up so I can see easily what is going on in our lives: everyday, school and work trips.
Did I make something? NO! I sold out and headed to the local Wal-mart for these dry erase boards! (Something similar to this.) My craftiness only goes so far, people!

I also had to figure out a way to rotate the boards. I didn't want to constantly be rewriting on two boards each month. Grabbing some Command Picture Hangers as an impulse purchase, I figured it was worth a try. They work brilliantly! Now, I only have to erase one board a month and can still have them in right to left order (for my poor little anal-retentive mind). I do need to grab some different colored markers so I can have everything color coded. I am DETERMINED that I will not forget about pajama day at school this year!

Neglect
**COUGH**COUGH**
*HACK*
So. Have you noticed the neglect of my poor little blog space? I know - it's completely shameful! I feel the need to come in here and clean out the dust and cobwebs I've been gone so long. I (naively) thought with school starting I would have all this extra time on my hands. I mean, I ONLY have 3 kids to take care of during the day. One who still naps! Sadly, I haven't even taken the time to look at anybody else's blog lately, either.
Honestly, I have been busy with projects. Several new posts will be showing up soon. For some reason, all my projects seem to be BIG with LOTS of layers. I tend to lack the energy (a.k.a. willpower) to sit at the computer and type up a post at the end of the day. Once again - S.A.D.
Just know I'm back and look for regular posting to resume on Monday. Have a great weekend!
